Troy Carson was recently named Security Code 3’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr. Carson brings with him an extensive background and wealth of industry knowledge that spans 20 years. Most recently, he was the President/CEO of Atlas Security, a leading enterprise with more than 600 employees and six offices throughout the State of California. Atlas Security and Patrol was the largest security firm in the entire Bay Area.

Mr. Carson retains his private patrol operator and private investigator licenses from the State of California. He also holds certifications and memberships with:

Lanette Wiegand brings over 10 years of experience in the security industry. She started out as a Communications Dispatcher and learned the security industry from the ground floor. With time, dedication and a passion for her turning her job into a career, she quickly was promoted up through the ranks. She achieved Patrol Supervisor, Patrol Manager and Vice-President status. Lanette has advanced training in Counterterrorism and Security Measures.

Joy Jones
Human Resources Director Healthcare Specialist
Joy Jones manages Human Resources, payroll in addition to all healthcare security operations in Northern California with her 10+ years healthcare security experience. She has extensive experience in Joint Commission environment of care standards, Cal & Federal OSHA, NFPA, AB508 and local and state HazMat regulations. Ms. Jones has also participated in numerous Joint Commission, Environment of Care, disaster drills, Security assessments and local/state surveys. Joy has received FEMA training for managing disasters and is certified as a Hazardous Materials “First Responder” and Hazardous Waste Handler. Joy conducts annual security assessments at various hospitals and has completed numerous safety surveys for JCAHO compliance.

Experience includes providing service at Regional Medical Center, Los Gatos Community Hospital, Gardner Family Health Center, Natividad Medical Center and Watsonville Community Hospital where she was responsible for identifying and hiring qualified hospital security staff, training, AB508 assaultive behavior and customer service and all healthcare related training.

Additionally Joy Jones has over 19 years of experience in all aspects of Human Resources and employee relations. She has extensive experience in the stationary and patrol security services industry. As Director of Human Resources at Security Code 3, Ms. Jones manages the company policies, conducts new-hire orientation and over sees all employee communications. In addition, she manages the recruiting, application and review process. She works with the Investigations Department to mobilize the Live Scan unit to perform background checks. She ensures that all employees are compliant with local, state and federal regulations. She also works with a variety of managers and supervisors to ensure that employee personality and aptitude tests are cleared prior to hire.

Ms. Jones leads employees in orientation covering benefits, policies, procedures and guidelines. She also over sees entry-level training, which includes customer services, authority of the officer, report writing, conflict resolution and first aid. She also issues employee and customer surveys as part of the Quality Assurance programs and policies.

Ms. Jones is a member of International Hospital Association for Security (IAHSS), Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Santa Clara County Employer Advisory Council.

Jason King comes to Security Code 3 with 10 years experience in the Security Industry. Jason brings to the team a wealth of experience from his work in the field of Loss Prevention, Patrol and Stationary Account Operations, Managements of Undercover agents as well as customer service positions with numerous alarm companies in the surrounding area.

As Operations Manager for Security Code 3, he is responsible for scheduling and recruiting of officers, building, improving and maintaining relationships with clients and employees. Jason believes in developing his staff in both technical and professional skills through performance management (coaching, counseling, disciplining, training, annual formal performance evaluations, recognition, etc.). He assures that employee grievances are heard and resolved. Jason provides the basis of a great place to work by treating his staff with respect and his great influence ensures employee satisfaction resulting in high employee retention. At Security Code 3 Jason coordinate and/or conduct site-specific OJT, client-specific training, and annual refresher training for security personnel. He reviews daily activity reports prior to submitting to client and coordinate preliminary investigations. In addition he performs account audits and off-hour visits, ensuring our high quality standards are meet. He develops and maintains operational procedures so that valid site-specific post orders are always available for reference by the security staff. Jason specialized in customer service and takes a proactive role in communicating with clients and meeting their needs. He meets with them regularly and listens to issues providing security and technical expertise and solutions. Ensuring complete customer satisfaction and working diligently to minimize loss of resources at the accounts he manages.

Along with the experience obtained during 4 years in the US Army, Jason holds advance training certificates in Anti Terrorism, Customer Service and Hazardous Materials Handling.

As Operations Manager, Steve is responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling of all employees. Prior to joining Security Code 3, Steve spent three years as a Loss Prevention Investigator where he obtained “Wicklander & Zulawski’s Interview and Interrogation” certification. He also graduated from the Police Academy with achievements in “Top Law Enforcement Skills Award” and “Community Service Recognition Award.” During the course of his training and career thus far, Steve has been responsible for such management, technical, and operational duties to include:

Maj. Grant possesses over 23 years of combined military, law enforcement and security investigations experience. His career is highlighted as a veteran of the U.S Military who trained and managed combat teams in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He later trained with SWAT Operations, and participated in manhunt operations for some of America’s Most Wanted criminals. Maj. Grant has sustained experience in Investigations, Counter Terrorism and Counter Intelligence Operations, holding a certification as a Homeland Security Professional and Certified Terrorism and National Security Management Professional.

Today Maj. Grant is an international security consultant and trainer providing services for law enforcement, The Department of Homeland Security, and Private Security practitioners at Department of Defense contracts. Maj. Grant is a certified Bureau of Security and Investigative Services Training Instructor, POST Certified Firearms Instructor and Dept. of Justice Safety Instructor. Maj. Grant also maintains current certification in NRA Law Enforcement Handgun and Shotgun instruction, and is a government approved and certified instructor for GSA, DOD and DHS federal security contracts.

Grant holds the position as the Director of Government Contracts, and his experience as a Certified BSIS Training Instructor makes Security Code-3 the only Licensed Private Security Agency in Santa Clara County that is approved as a BSIS Security Guard Training Facility.

Over the past 25 years, Dr. Curry has written hundreds of responses to solicitation and awarded over $165 Billion in contracts: $2.5 million in city and state contracts; and over $12.5 million in local contracts (private sector) and $164, 850 billion in Federal contracts. His experiences include, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s department, founding president of two California Security Companies and was a major instrument in the development of two additional and successful security companies. Additionally, Jim has also had positions to include, Director of Safety and Security for Doubletree, Hotels, Hilton hotels and Red Lion hotels. Jim has had specific operational oversight of many companies to include, The Walt Disney Family Museum, Paramount’s Great America, The prestigious Monterey Institute of International Studies and has developed relationships and start-up protocols for over 500 California businesses.

Jim currently holds a degree in criminal justice and corrections. Jim has wrestled and coached wrestling at both the High School and National level. His strong history of training and coaching helps ensure seamless transitions with many companies to include industries such as construction, Hi-tech, theme parks, residential, hospitality, shopping malls, museums, educational institutions and special events. Jim is a current PPO license holder in the State of California and is a licensed qualified manager by the Bureau of Security and Investigations in the State of California.
